According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, Vipul Thakkar, 53, of Owings Mills, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Circuit Court to multiple charges, including theft and financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, for his role in a gold bar scam targeting elderly victims. To address spacing needs in the mid-county region, planning and construction was previously approved for the upcoming Crown High School which is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2027. Construction is moving along, with plenty completed but still a lot left to go.
Residents in the area have seen Pepco bills increase, and the company is extending support measures through March to help customers manage higher energy costs.
