This year we commemorate the 50th anniversary of Armand’s, the local chain that captured the hearts– and appetites– of pizza lovers across the DC Metro area. Founded in 1975, Armand’s began as a humble pizzeria on Veazey Street and Wisconsin Avenue NW near Tenley Circle in Washington, D.C., and quickly blossomed into a beloved institution. At its peak, the chain boasted over 25 locations, including multiple restaurants right here in Montgomery County. Today, however, only two family-owned locations remain: the Rockville restaurant (190 Halpine Rd.) and “Armand’s By the Sea” in Bethany Beach, DE.
