Dacha Beer Garden is coming to 1115 East-West Highway in Silver Spring, taking over the former site of Denizens Brewery. Denizens, which opened in the space in June 2014, closed its Silver Spring location in October 2023, with owner Julie Verrati stating, “Our ten-year lease has come to an end, and that’s the end of an era for us. It’s been an incredible ten years in Silver Spring, and we’re so grateful for the community here…” Denizens can still be found at 4550 Van Buren St in Riverdale Park, MD.
Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown issued a consumer alert regarding 23andMe’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy, raising concerns about the potential transfer or sale of consumers’ genetic information. He advised Marylanders to consider deleting their accounts to protect their sensitive data, noting that 23andMe allows users to remove their information through account settings. (more…)
Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown joined 31 attorneys general in urging Congress to pass H.R. 2350 and S. 1137, which would allow states to use cell phone jamming technology in prisons to prevent inmates from using contraband phones for criminal activities. The coalition argues that these devices would enhance public safety by disrupting illegal communications without interfering with emergency services.
