Newly announced, the festival will open on Friday evening, September 11, with a special tribute honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11. All three bands performing that evening include veterans and active-duty military members.
Be sure to visit Old Fireman’s BBQ Food Truck and meet a firefighter who was on-site at the Pentagon on that fateful day. We are offering special pricing for first responders and military.

Maryland State Police (MDSP) shared on Monday morning that over the weekend, state troopers responded to 15 suspected DUI incidents. Of those, seven involved multiple vehicles and seven involved someone being transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Montgomery County’s last remaining Jerry’s Subs & Pizza (8517 Colesville Rd. Silver Spring, MD) will close permanently on Friday, January 31st, the store confirmed via phone call this morning. Update: Several readers have shared they tried going on Tuesday and the restaurant was already closed. Phone calls made to Jerry’s were not answered Tuesday afternoon.
On Saturday night, Dimitri Sotis was found unresponsive in his home in Alexandria, Virginia. Since joining WTOP in 1999, Sotis was the evening anchor for the radio station. He was 55 years old.
