Northwest High School alumna Rei Ami is now an Academy Award winner. The artist, born Sarah Yeeun Lee, helped make history Sunday night as the animated film KPop Demon Hunters took home two Oscars at the 98th Academy Awards. The film won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for the track “Golden,” performed by Rei Ami alongside EJAE and Audrey Nuna.

Severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds and possible tornadoes are expected across the Washington, D.C. region this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The McDonald’s at 7200 Muncaster Mill Road in the Red Mill Shops shopping center closed its doors permanently on Sunday, March 15, ending a decades-long run in the Derwood community (photos below).
