The rankings highlight colleges that excel in areas such as value, social mobility, and teaching as well as within the academic disciplines of business, computer science, engineering, nursing, economics, and psychology.
On Thursday, September 19, Montgomery College leaders, along with state and county officials, celebrated the grand opening of the Catherine and Isiah Leggett Math and Science Building at the Montgomery College Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus.
General admission is $25 per person, which includes chili tastings. Free Admission for kids under 18, Police Officers and their Family is provided by MCPF). All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission to strengthen community-police relationships, support officers wellness, and enhance public safety initiatives across Montgomery County.
In addition to delicious chili, attendees can enjoy local craft beer from Lone Oak Brewery, family activities, and opportunities to meet and interact with Montgomery County police officers in a fun, relaxed setting.
The inaugural Butter Chicken Festival will take place in the DMV from October 13-20, featuring top local restaurants showcasing their unique versions of the popular dish. From “Butter Chicken tacos to burritos and spaghetti,” participating chefs will present creative twists on the classic recipe, with a portion of sales supporting World Central Kitchen (WCK), Chef José Andrés’ non-profit focused on providing meals during crises. Big Greek Cafe is officially opening its ninth location at 8874 McGaw Rd in Columbia, MD. The restaurant will be open daily from 11am until 9pm. This is the local restaurant chain’s first Howard County location and fourth location outside of Montgomery County after opening a restaurant in Urbana in 2022, in Laurel in spring 2023, and in Cockeysville in the summer of 2023.
