Last month we let you know that the office building at 121 Rockville Pike was being auctioned off by Ten-X later this month with a starting bid of $6 million. The building was previously home to Choice Hotels headquarters prior to the company’s move to Pike & Rose earlier this year, and the winning bid came in at $10.75 million ($10.965 million with transactions fees), according to Maryland Newsletters.

Event

Bring your family and friends to our free , all-day outdoor Oktoberfest celebration. These will be an outdoor craft fair featuring local artisans and professional woodworkers, a chainsaw carving, woodworking and tool demonstrations by Festool, Montgomery Wood Turners and Carvers. There will also be lots of delicious food provided by El Parente Tacos, El Jeffe Wood-fired pizzas, Bruster's Ice cream and seasonal craft brews from Saints Row Brwsing Company.

Alert Montgomery has sent a ‘Severe Traffic Alert’ regarding a “traffic incident that closes all northbound lanes of Columbia Pike (US 29) between Lockwood Drive and Northwest Drive in White Oak. Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.”

Markoff’s, popular for their annual Halloween haunt creation that has entertained visitors for years, has launched Christmas at Calleva (19120 Martinsburg Rd., Dickerson, MD). The Christmas Trail is designed to “enchant visitors of all ages” with interactive scenes inspired by the classic Christmas stories like Rudolph and The Polar Express.

After Jordan Weitz got diagnosed with celiac disease at age 18, around the time he was graduating from Wootton High School in Rockville, checking ingredient lists in packaged goods became the norm. “Throughout his career he kept coming back to one question: Why was the process of finding manufacturers so outdated? He sent a cold message to Keychain cofounder and then-CEO of Angie’s List and Keychain was started.” Now, Weitz has made the 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 List in the ‘Food & Drink’ section.
