Burmese restaurant Mandalay at 930 Bonifant Street in Silver Spring has announced they will be closing the location on October 31.
The closing of this location has been expected for several years as Mandalay first announced in 2019 that they were moving to a new location in Washington, DC.
Urban Crawfish and Pho Eatery in Gaithersburg Have Closed
Urban Crawfish and Pho Eatery at 670 and 674 Quince Orchard Rd in Gaithersburg have closed. Both restaurants were under the same ownership.
Urban Plates has closed permanently in Montgomery Mall after almost two and a half years in the location.
The Southern California-based assembly line style fast casual restaurant took over the Naples Ristorante location in the mall’s food court and opened in March of 2019.
Back in March we let you know that Zofia’s Kitchen would be taking over the location that was home to Mahshad Modern Persian Kitchen in King Farm at 404 King Farm Blvd.
There wasn’t any progress after the Zofia’s Kitchen Instagram post announcing the location and a “space available” sign was put up a couple months back. We called Zofia’s Kitchen this morning, which now operates as Rogi, and were told that the deal fell through and that there are currently no plans to move into the area.
Ichiban Restaurant in Gaithersburg to Close After Over 35 Years in Business on Sunday, September 12
Ichiban Restaurant at 637 N Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg will be closing its doors tomorrow after over 35 years in business. The current owners, which took over in the business in 2005, also own two other local restaurants that will remain open, Aery and Ichiban Mikoshi Sushi, both located inside the LOTTE Market at 221 Muddy Branch Rd Gaithersburg.
Earlier today we spoke with a representative from the Disney Store located at the Clarksburg Outlets and were told that the store would be closing permanently on or before September 15th (depending on when the store runs out of inventory).
Everything in-store is 40% off and a $10 coupon has been provided to customers who walk in, but a representative told us that the store can’t guarantee the coupon will be available.
Per a letter to the Bel Pre Elementary School Community, the school will be closed today (Thursday, September 2nd).
