South House Garden is Coming to Olde Towne Gaithersburg.
According to a sponsored post on Facebook, South House Garden is a beer garden, southern eatery and sports bar combined. It will offer games like pool, beer pong, darts, and live music.
Openings
Evoluxxy, a new women’s clothing store, will be having its grand opening this Saturday, February 29th. Evoluxxy is currently in its soft opening and is located in Pike & Rose where Francesca’s used to be.
The store focuses on the “evolution of luxury,” and has a curated collection of pieces from US as well as international brands.
The first standalone Starbucks in Damascus is now open at 26141 Ridge Rd.
Starbucks has had a presence in Damascus for a while with their location within Safeway, but this location will offer a drive-thru window and will have the full Starbucks menu.
A little while ago, we introduced you to Lone Oak Brewery located in Olney off of Olney Laytonsville Rd. We went back again today to check out their progress and we were shown around by founders Chris and Charlie Miller, who both graduated from Magruder High School and partnered with Ralph and Ryan Mollet of Gaithersburg to bring you the brewery.
As of right now, they estimate a mid April opening. Lone Oak emphasizes local resources— they plan to grow some of their own ingredients including blueberries, blackberries, and possible pumpkins. They also plan to keep their own bees for honey, and they have even included wood from local trees into their buildings.
Back in November we reported that Olney Crab House was coming soon to the location that used to be home to The Olney Tavern (18200 Georgia Avenue).
Since then, we’ve received many questions regarding the location since “for lease” signs were placed back on the building.

UPDATE: Per a sign on I-270 South, exit 12 will open on or about 6/8/20.
Last summer we reported that Ema Rossi Pizzeria Napoletana would be moving in to the old Pizza Hut location in the Rock Creek Village Center (5556 Norbeck Rd).
Pizza Hut closed back in April and the remained vacant for a few months, but the space was quickly snatched up and permanent signage went up a few weeks back.
It has been nearly two years since we announced Cinnaholic’s impending arrival to Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg.
The bakery, known for its 100% vegan custom cinnamon rolls, has made some progress and expects to open this March or April.

Strosniders Hardware in Downtown Silver Spring is now Silver Spring Ace Hardware
Strosniders Hardware has been in MoCo since 1953. They have locations in Bethesda, Kensington, and Potomac.

Yesterday we were able to stop by Downtown Silver Spring’s newest spot, The Eleanor, for a sneak peek of what’s to come when it opens this Monday, 2/24/20.
The Eleanor is described as “the neighborhood arcade & bowling lounge that serves honest, handmade food and local beers, craft cocktails, and great wines.“
