Rockville Man Dead After Clara Barton Parkway Crash

Shortly after midnight on Monday, February 15, 2021, US Park Police Officers responded to a crash on the Clara Barton Parkway at the Little Falls Branch Bridge.

As the scene is very close to the DC/MD line, firefighters from both DC and Montgomery County responded to the crash. Montgomery County Police 2nd District Officers also responded.

Responders found a sedan that had ran off of the Parkway and crashed into a tree. The driver, who was trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters, was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as 45-year-old Murat Siyam of Rockville. Murat Siyam was a managing partner of HomeSlyce Pizza, which has locations in Baltimore, Columbia, and DC.

As the Clara Barton Parkway is a federal parkway, this crash is being investigated by the United States Park Police Criminal Investigations, Traffic Safety Unit.
