What’s New and What’s Coming Soon to Montgomery Mall (Updated September 15th)

Below is a list of businesses that are new or coming soon to Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, as well as upcoming events:
Coming Soon: Fall Carnival
The Jolly Shows Carnival will be at Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda) parking lot from Wednesday, September 20th until Sunday, September 24th. There will be over 30 attractions, including carnival rides, games, and food wagons. According to their website, “We are a new generation of carnival operators who strive to be more progressive and professional. We realize that we must produce a premium product for our customer’s hard earned money. We won’t forget our proud traditions, but we are committed to overcoming the stigmas which have hindered our industry for far too long.”

Now Open: Butter Chicken House
Butter Chicken House is currently holding its soft opening. The restaurant is located in the space that was recently home to Ya Mon! Island Grill, next door to Chick-Fil-A. Ya Mon Island Grill closed over the summer. According to its website, “Butter chicken, also known as “Murgh Makhani,” is a mouthwatering and beloved dish in Indian cuisine. It’s a rich and flavorful dish that combines tender pieces of chicken with a creamy and aromatic tomato-based sauce. The flavors are a perfect balance of savory, creamy, tangy, and mildly spicy, making it an absolute delight for the taste buds.” Menu items at Butter Chicken House include butter chicken, tofu, shrimp, and lamb, either over rice or as a wrap

Temporarily Relocated: American Eagle
American Eagle has set up a temporary shop while their regular location undertakes a redesign. You can find the temporary location on the second level near Macy’s.
 

Coming Soon: Lids
Lids will be located next to LEGO on the mall’s lower level. Lids is a “mall based, retail headwear” store that sells NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL licensed hats and merchandise. Lids has additional Montgomery County locations at the Clarksburg Outlets, Ellsworth Place (Silver Spring), and Wheaton Mall. The location is currently hiring and no opening date has been announced.

Now Open: VinoRita
VinoRita Wine Slushies is now open in the Montgomery Mall food court, taking over the kiosk space that was previously home to HalfSmoke, Gelato Galax, and Coldstone Creamery. HalfSmoke closed in April. VinoRita is considered a “pop-up”, so get it while you can. The menu consists of a variety of flavors, including the best selling “Black San,” which is a Blackberry Sangria. Other flavors include Peach Frose, Strawberry Daquiri, Blueberry Pomegranate, and a variety of non-alcoholic slushees. Additional information below, per VinoRita:

Coming Soon: Pollo Campero 
Pollo Campero is coming to Westfield Montgomery’s dining terrace. It will be taking over the space recently occupied by Greek Aroma Grill. Menu items include fried and grilled chicken, empanadas, yuca, plantains, and flan.  According to signage, the restaurant is expected to open this winter. Pollo Campero has additional Montgomery County locations in Gaithersburg, Takoma Park, and Wheaton. The fried chicken chain, which originated in Guatemala, opened its first location in 1971 and has grown to over 400 locations worldwide, including over 70 in the United States.

Coming Soon: Rolex at Liljenquist & Beckstead
Westfield Montgomery announced the signing of an expanded lease with Liljenquist & Beckstead back in March. According to a press release, “The luxury boutique, housing exquisite collections of Swiss timepieces and stunning jewelry from around the world, will soon be home to a Rolex corner and storefront, along with an expanded selection of David Yurman offerings. The boutique will be built upon the existing location and expand into the former Lush and Swarovski spaces with Swarovski and Lush relocating nearby.” No opening date has been announced. 


Coming Soon: Flip Circus
Flip Circus is coming to Montgomery Mall for 10 days from October 20-30th. The show will be located under a large white and red tent that will be set up in the parking lot area near the Old Navy entrance to the mall.  The circus features clowns, jugglers, acrobats, aerialists and “motorcycles inside the Globe of Steal.” Shows will take place at 7:30pm Monday-Friday and 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are currently available through the FlipCircus website. Flip Circus is “a brand new show with national an international acts. Inside its big top, people can enjoy all the
talents of acrobats, jugglers, dancers, clowns, trapeze, and much more. This talented team put all their passion
and heart into offering us a show to fall in love with.  A place where reality becomes magic!”
