Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) District 2 Bethesda Commander Capt. Amy Daum shared on Monday afternoon that Corporal Matthew Chamberlain and eight other officers were honored for their role in helping an officer who suffered a medical emergency.

Per Capt. Amy Dan, “In November 2023, while attending Police Mountain Bike School in Boyds, [Montgomery County Police] Cpl. M. Chamberlin was part of a team of several officers who carried an officer suffering a medical emergency across rough terrain to a waiting MCFRS crew. Their actions enabled the officer to receive swift and necessary care.

For their actions, Cpl. Chamberlin and eight other officers received a Lifesaving Award at a recent department awards ceremony. Great work all and thank you!”
