MCDOT has shared that due to maintenance work, Metrorail service will be impacted from Saturday, February 1 from 7 a.m. – 1 a.m. and Sunday, February 2 from 7 a.m. – Midnight. On the Red Line, Metro will replace switches at Friendship Heights interlocking, perform rail and fastener renewal and third rail maintenance, and conduct grout pad repair and leak mitigation. Bethesda, Friendship Heights, and Tenleytown stations will be closed. Below are the anticipated service impacts:

MoCo

Montgomery County’s Department of Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) will begin accepting mobile IDs at its Westbard retail store, making it the first government-run alcohol distribution system in the region to accept mobile IDs for age verification when purchasing alcohol. Following the pilot program, ABS may expand this initiative to all its 27 retail stores.

Reagan National Airport has shared that “All takeoffs and landings have been halted at DCA. Emergency personnel are responding to an aircraft incident on the airfield. The terminal remains open. Will update.” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on Fox News that a Blackhawk helicopter and a regional jet collided.

Germantown

BGR, which stands for “Burgers Grilled Right,” has closed its Germantown location at 20940-B Frederick Rd in the Neelsville Village Center. The location has been removed from the BGR website and is listed as permanently closed on Google. The last remaining BGR in Maryland is at  6250 Columbia Crossing Circle, Suite D in Columbia.
