According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD): The MCPD Special Operations Division will be conducting Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) training in & around the Downtown Crown/Rio area of Gaithersburg at various times on 11/20/2023. Residents & community members may observe a drone, however there is no reason for alarm.

Clarksburg

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to northbound I-270 at approximately 2:30am prior to RT121(Clarksburg) for an injured person after a 25′ fall over jersey wall, according to assistant Chief David Pazos.

Crime

Maryland National Park Police (Montgomery County division) tweeted at 10:48pm on Sunday night that night while on proactive patrol at Ridge Road Recreational Park in Germantown, officers arrested an 18 yesr old male resident of Gaithersburg for illegal possession of a handgun after he was observed in a suspicious vehicle in the park after hours. The subject is currently being held without bond.

King Farm

Last month over 250 people attended an opening event for Rockville’s newest neighborhood- Farmstead District. Several potential busters camped out to be the first in line to purchase a home, with seven homes selling on the first day for EYA’s newest neighborhood that will also be joined by Pulte offering a total of 370 homes in 2024 (construction photos below).

A new MCPS initiative, Community of Practice (CoP) Workgroup on Promotions and Appointments, District Climate, and Employee Supports, dedicated to rectifying issues related to harassment, sexual harassment, and workplace bullying, will be meeting between starting mid-November 2023 (this month) and Mid-February 2024.
