The City of Rockville is poised for a significant enhancement to one of its recreational spaces, thanks to Maryland’s Community Parks and Playgrounds program. As part of Governor Wes Moore’s FY 2026 budget, Rockville has been allocated $225,000 for the replacement of the playground at Fallsgrove Park.
On Saturday, we let you know that Harris Teeter, located at 11845 Old Georgetown Rd. in North Bethesda, is set to close permanently. At the time we were informed that July 20th was the likely closing date and that was confirmed by an email sent out by Harris Teeter to its customers on Monday afternoon.

Earlier this year, the popular Mackie’s Barbecue announced the closure of its Clarksburg, Frederick, and Olney locations, effective January 10th, to concentrate on expanding its catering and online delivery services through its Gaithersburg location. Now, approximately six months later, owner Cam Makki has revealed plans for Mackie’s to make a comeback in Olney with a seasonal food truck.
Commas Food Hall, a new 13,000-square-foot venue located on the third level of Ellsworth Place (8661 Colesville Rd) in Downtown Silver Spring, is currently in a “super soft” opening phase. The food hall has already begun serving the community with three food stalls and the C3 bar now open (video below).
The City of Gaithersburg’s SummerFest will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 6pm to 11 pm. Gaithersburg’s free, illuminating summer festival will take place on the grounds of Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm. “Enjoy live music, food trucks, local breweries, and family-friendly activities—culminating in a spectacular fireworks display and SummerGlo After Party.”

While many fans appreciate Stevie Nicks’ music and the song itself, its title often contributes to the common mistake of adding an ‘s’ to the end of the Maryland location’s name.

Max’s Best Ice Cream is gearing up to open its doors at 7770 Woodmont Ave in Bethesda, MD. The much-anticipated shop is scheduled to welcome its first customers on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, and will be offering a free scoop of ice cream to the first 50 customers.
