Detectives From Gaithersburg Police Department Are Investigating Monday Afternoon Stabbing

UPDATE: Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section have arrested and charged 61-years-old, Ricky Stevens of Gaithersburg, MD with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. Ricky Stevens was transported to the Central Processing Unit and is being held without bond.

Per the Gaithersburg Police Department: Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 18700 block of N. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg.

On Monday, August 8, 2022 at approximately 4:30 p.m, officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and Montgomery County Police – 6th District responded to the 18700 block of N. Frederick Avenue for the report of a stabbing that just occurred. Officers located a male victim suffering from lacerations. Officers provided medical aid on the male victim until Fire and Rescue personnel arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with critical but non life-threatening injuries.

The motive for the stabbing is unknown at this time. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
