Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units were called to a fire at 1700 Rockville Pike, Halpine Road.
The fire, which caused smoke to be visible from outside of the garage, started on a rubbish pile on the second level of parking garage.
The Montgomery County Council, acting as the Board of Health, met this morning for a public health update and voted to terminate the existing Board of Health regulation that was scheduled to end the indoor mask requirement when Montgomery County reached an 85% vaccination rate. Montgomery County is currently at 83.3%.
The mandate is now scheduled to end on January 31st., meaning masks will be required until at least that date.

Green- under 3% report testing positive within the last 14 days
Two women and one man were pronounced dead after an SUV and snowplow collided on Monday evening in Fairland. A fourth person was taken to the hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.
The crash occurred around 6:45pm on Columbia Pike near Briggs Chaney Road, according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Pete Piringer.
