The Montgomery County Council, acting as the Board of Health, met this morning for a public health update and voted to terminate the existing Board of Health regulation that was scheduled to end the indoor mask requirement when Montgomery County reached  an 85% vaccination rate.  Montgomery County is currently at 83.3%.

The mandate is now scheduled to end on January 31st., meaning masks will be required until at least that date.

Fairland

Two women and one man were pronounced dead after an SUV and snowplow collided on Monday evening in Fairland. A fourth person was taken to the hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

The crash occurred around 6:45pm on Columbia Pike near Briggs Chaney Road, according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Pete Piringer.
