Governor Wes Moore announced the appointment of James J. Dietrich to the Montgomery County Circuit Court and Kristina L. Watkowski to the Worcester County Circuit Court.
Montgomery County’s own comic and cosplay festival, RisuCon, will return on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The convention will run from 10am to 8pm and promises a full day of activities celebrating anime, comics, cosplay, and pop culture.
The Education and Culture (EC) Committee will meet on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 9:30 a.m. to review the MCPS central office reorganization plan and receive an update on staffing and hiring. The reorganization, approved in June 2025, aims to direct more resources to schools and students, reduce 68.8 full-time positions and $5.9 million in expenses, while the staffing update will address vacancies, especially for special education and multilingual learner support roles.
