Council Passes Measure to Allow Duplexes, Triplexes, and Small Apartments Along Major Corridors

The Montgomery County Council has approved a zoning measure allowing more residential building types such as duplexes, triplexes, townhouses, and small apartment buildings up to 40 feet tall along designated corridors. Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) 25-02, part of the More Housing NOW initiative led by Councilmembers Andrew Friedson and Natali Fani-González, aims to expand housing options and affordability for working residents. The legislation permits the construction of townhomes, duplexes, triplexes, and small apartment buildings on land currently zoned for single-family homes.  (more…)

Former Orioles Player is Last Athlete to Play in Both MLB and NBA

Mark Hendrickson stands out as one of only 13 athletes to have played in both Major League Baseball (MLB) and the National Basketball Association (NBA). The former Orioles player, who ended his athletic career with the team in 2011, is also the most recent athlete to do so.

This ordinance prohibits sleeping or lodging outdoors in public areas, ensuring that these spaces remain welcoming for all residents and visitors.
