White’s Ferry owners Chuck and Stacy Kuhn have offered to donate the ferry business and assets, valued at $4.5 million, to Loudoun County, VA after Montgomery County recently declined a similar offer, as part of their ongoing effort to reopen the historic Potomac River crossing. On April 11, officials from Maryland, Montgomery County, and the Town of Poolesville offered a $3 million financial incentive to the ferry and Virginia landing site owners to help resolve the long standing dispute and reopen the ferry, which has been closed since 2020. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a single-vehicle collision on the I-495 Beltway exit ramp to River Road around 6:20pm on Friday.

On April 18, 2025, at approximately 4:22 p.m., Rockville City Police responded to a reported stabbing at the Rockville Metro Station, 250 Rockville Pike. A 39-year-old male victim had been involved in a verbal altercation with two juveniles that escalated when he was pepper-sprayed, stabbed in the back, and struck multiple times with a skateboard.
