Lavande Patisserie, a beloved Rockville destination for pastry enthusiasts since its inception in December 2015, has announced that it will close permanently at the end of the month.
MCPS has announced that five students were awarded college/university-sponsored National Merit scholarships financed by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), bringing the total number of MCPS Merit Scholars up to 45 for this year.

The Montgomery County Council has approved a zoning measure allowing more residential building types such as duplexes, triplexes, townhouses, and small apartment buildings up to 40 feet tall along designated corridors. Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) 25-02, part of the More Housing NOW initiative led by Councilmembers Andrew Friedson and Natali Fani-González, aims to expand housing options and affordability for working residents. The legislation permits the construction of townhomes, duplexes, triplexes, and small apartment buildings on land currently zoned for single-family homes. (more…)
