On a chilly Saturday morning, the Walt Whitman High School boys basketball team, along with their coach, Chris Lun, dedicated their time to supporting local families in need. In partnership with Access Youth DC, the team participated in a meaningful initiative to buy and bag groceries for Whitman Families4Families.

DMV

The snow has moved out of our area after dropping a half inch to 3 inches across the DMV. Here in Montgomery County, a general 1-2.5 inches fell, according to observations taken in the last six hours by trained spotters for the National Weather Service (NWS). The totals can be seen below (not every area is included):

Beyond MoCo

Maryland has detected a case of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in a Caroline County broiler operation, marking the first case in a Maryland commercial poultry facility since 2023, prompting quarantines, bird depopulation, and heightened biosecurity measures to prevent disease spread.
