Newly announced, the festival will open on Friday evening, September 11, with a special tribute honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11. All three bands performing that evening include veterans and active-duty military members.

In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, Judge Harry Storm sentenced defendant, Jovan Ali, 45, of Fairfax, VA, to seven years in prison after he was convicted on one count of second-degree assault for an incident on April 17, 2024, when he stabbed a man. The incident was caught on video captured by a Montgomery County Police drone.

Montgomery Parks received top awards for creative marketing campaigns including Sligo Creek Fest and the Wheaton Action Sports Park at the 2024 MarCom Awards from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals (AMCP).
