Parks’ Picks: Things To Do This Weekend

Montgomery Parks teams up with Improbable Comedy for The Mother of All Comedy Shows(opens in a new tab), the first of four comedy nights this spring and summer. The free event is Friday, May 20, 7 pm, at Waters House Special Park in Germantown. Hilarious line-up of women comics. Bring chairs and blankets.

Literature

Brookside Gardens invites families to Drag Queen Story Hour(opens in a new tab) for an hour of songs and stories with Citrine on Saturday, May 21, at 10 am. The free program–cosponsored by WAM and FAM and Drag Queen Story Hour, Montgomery County, Maryland—is outdoors next to the Visitor Center.

Celebration

Join us as we cut the ribbon on the reopening of Edith Throckmorton Neighborhood Park (opens in a new tab)in Kensington on Saturday, May 21, at 11 am. Free.

Golf

South Germantown Driving Range’s Junior Golf Clinic(opens in a new tab) helps young golfers focus on one golf skill or swing at a time. Improve your young golfers game and register for this clinic on Saturday, May 21, at 1 pm.

Skating

It will be hot and humid this weekend. So, cool down indoors at our ice centers during a public skating session. Sessions are held daily at both Cabin John Ice Rink(opens in a new tab) and Wheaton Ice Arena(opens in a new tab). Check out website for schedules.
