Two Alarm Fire in Montgomery Village Displaces 15 People

A two alarm fire just outside of Montgomery Village, in Gaithersburg, swept through multiple townhomes last night at around 11:30pm.

The fire is believed to have started at an electrical outlet on an exterior wall that extended to nearby combustibles and spread rapidly on the 8800th block of Swallow Court.

Three townhouses out of a row of four were affected by the fire, with approximately $1.5 million in damage, displacing 15 people.

More than 85 firefighters responded to the call and were able to have the fire out completely by around 1:30am.

Thankfully, all residents and pets were able to get out without injury.
