A federal jury has convicted a Montgomery County man on a cyberstalking charge following a two-week trial, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland.

A Montgomery County jury has found Gregory Jones, 32, of Martinsburg, WV, guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and multiple firearm charges in the 2018 shooting deaths of Ashley Dickinson and Joshua Frazier in Burtonsville.

Montgomery County Police are investigating a shooting reported Sunday night in the Silver Spring area (between Colesville and Cloverly).
Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that Tasha Saunders of Parkville was sentenced to 10 years in prison and her daughter, Tamyra Jordan, received five years of supervised probation for participating in a scheme that defrauded Medicaid of more than $3.6 million.
Maryland State Police arrested a 24-year-old woman and charged her with first-degree murder and child abuse in the death of her five-week-old infant, whose autopsy showed evidence of trauma. Jose Ulises Aguilar-Martinez, 23, pleaded guilty today to six charges connected to the July 2024 carjacking that killed 54-year-old Melody Waldecker of Silver Spring. The plea was entered in Loudoun County Circuit Court, just weeks before a jury trial was set to begin on January 5.
Maryland-National Capital Park Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault that occurred on November 1, 2025, along the Northwest Branch Trail in Silver Spring. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 18 and 22 years old with a slim build, wearing dark clothing, a black beanie, and black-framed glasses. (more…)

Detectives with the Gaithersburg Police Department have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that occurred in late October near the Rio Lakefront area.
Montgomery County police have charged a 27-year-old California man, Mauricio Martinez Garcia, with multiple counts of rape, kidnapping, and assault following an investigation into sexual assaults that occurred in Gaithersburg and Prince George’s County.
