In a move that marks a triumphant return to its roots, the Frederick Keys will once again be an affiliated Minor League Baseball team, serving as the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles starting in the 2026 season.

For nearly three decades, a series of brutal sexual assaults and one murder haunted Montgomery County and the Washington DC metropolitan area. The perpetrator, known to law enforcement and the public as the “Potomac River Rapist,” was active from 1991 to 1998, leaving a trail of fear and unsolved cases. The mystery was finally brought to an end in 2019, thanks to advances in DNA technology and a collaborative cold case investigation, leading to the arrest of Giles Daniel Warrick. Warrick later died while awaiting trial.

The Washington Commanders’ ongoing contract saga with star wide receiver Terry McLaurin took a dramatic turn today as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that McLaurin has requested a trade. Dolan Uyghur Cuisine, a highly anticipated addition to the Montgomery County dining scene since we shared the news a few weeks back, is set to hold its soft opening on Tuesday, August 5th. The restaurant, which specializes in authentic Uyghur dishes from Central Asia, will be located at 20-A Maryland Ave in Rockville, within The Square at Rockville, in the space formerly occupied by Kung Fu Kitchen and Peter Chang Rockville.


As Washington Commanders training camp heats up, one name is consistently emerging from the pack and drawing praise from media members: seventh-round draft pick Jacory Croskey-Merritt. According to 106.7 The Fan’s Grant Paulsen, Croskey-Merritt has been particularly impressive, a significant development in a competitive Commanders backfield (video below).

The Washington Commanders’ linebacker corps is generating significant buzz ahead of the upcoming NFL season, with two of their key defensive players earning top honors from former NFL linebacker and current NFL Network analyst, Manti Te’o. The future of the Washington Commanders’ new stadium at the RFK campus in Washington, D.C., is moving forward with significant developments. The D.C. Council is set to vote on the RFK campus legislation on Friday, August 1, 2025, after reaching a “much-improved agreement” with the Commanders. This vote could pave the way for the team’s return to its historic home.
