The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a situation involving a barricaded person on the 11200 block of Oak Leaf Dr. in the White Oak area on Friday evening.
Beauty 4U has signed on to take over the space that was the longtime home of Walgreens at 11215 New Hampshire Ave. in White Oak until closing the store permanently in February. The store is “coming soon” without an opening date available at this time.

Earlier this year we let you know that First Watch signed on to open a new location in the upcoming White Oak Town Center development (12345 Columbia Pike). It will be taking over a corner space with a large outdoor patio, across from the future grocery store anchor that remains to be determined (but appears to be Amazon Fresh again).
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a crash involving a Ride On bus shortly after 8pm on Monday night. The crash occurred near the intersection of Lockwood Dr. and July Dr. in White Oak.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 22-year-old Trevon Hatcherson-Ross with the shooting death of 19-year-old Justice T’Ziyan Elliott that occurred on a Metro Bus on Friday, February 17, 2023, on Lockwood Drive in White Oak.
A $475,000 permit has been issued for the interior construction of the upcoming Starbucks at White Oak Town Center (12345 Columbia Pike). Construction should begin soon and stores in the shopping center could begin opening by the end of the summer.
