In October we let you know that T Pot Hot Pot & Korean BBQ is coming to 9679 Lost Knife Road in the Montgomery Village Crossing shopping center in Gaithersburg.  A permit for $289K worth of improvements was issued to the restaurant earlier this month, so construction is expected to begin soon in the space that was previously home to Golden Star Buffet.

Growing up in Montgomery County, Maryland, Nicholas Sefcik lived in both Damascus and Gaithersburg, where he laid the foundation for his future as an educator and author culminating in his debut book, For The Win!: It’s spOiler Time. Nicholas attended Woodfield Elementary School, Baker Middle School, and Damascus High School, where he thrived both academically and athletically. A notable athlete, he played basketball and football during high school, earning the honor of winning two State Championships in football.

In June 2023 we let you know that the owners of The Lube Center on Fields Rd. in Gaithersburg were looking to open a car wash in the space that was home to Ziki Japanese Steakhouse until 2020. This past summer, WLR Automotive Group requested schematic development plan approval for an approximately 5,106 square-foot car wash facility, and now the City of Gaithersburg will meet next month for a joint public hearing.

Hangry Joe’s at 19290 Montgomery Village Ave in the Montgomery Village Shopping Center has reopened. The restaurant had been closed for the past week with a “closed” sign posted on the front door covering the store’s hours of operation. We spoke to someone at the location who was unablenprovide an explanation for last week’s closure.

On Thursday, February 20, Deputy First Class Roush of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) initiated a pursuit of a suspicious white Nissan that turned out to be stolen ended with the arrest of four suspects at Sheetz in Gaithersburg.
