The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a domestic homicide in Gaithersburg on Monday, November 4, after receiving a call from a person claiming to have killed their mother
Dominique Moore, 46, of Montgomery Village, pled guilty to six counts of child neglect for his six minor children in Montgomery County Circuit Court, facing a maximum of 30 years in prison, with a sentencing hearing set for February 5, 2025. His wife, Cynthia Moore, was recently convicted of the same charges and is scheduled for sentencing on January 22, 2025, following their arrests related to the death of their 17-year-old child in unsafe living conditions. Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront is hosting its annual “Light Up the Lakefront” event on Saturday, December 7th from 5pm-7pm that will feature a fireworks display over the lake.

HIP Projects LLC submitted an amendment to its sketch plan application for “Block R” of The Spectrum at Watkins Mill, proposing the removal of the age restriction (age-restricted properties typically are reserved for a population that is 55 years of age and older), an increase in the number of dwelling units from 158 to 244, and raising the height limit from six stories to seven stories.
