Dollar Tree is now open at 62 Market St in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood. The store opened for business on Sunday, February 2.

Poke Bros opened its first Maryland location last November in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood at 107 Market St W. After a little more than a year, the restaurant has closed permanently.
Rachel Carson Elementary School (RCES) hosted its first Turkey Trot to boost student attendance and mitigate chronic absenteeism on the day before Thanksgiving break. The school also utilized the event as an opportunity to collect canned food for the community of Hope at Seneca Creek Church. A video of the event can be seen below.
Giuseppi’s Kentlands has shared the sad news of the passing of co-owner Eugene “Gene” Lee. Lee passed away at the age of 76 earlier this month and is remembered by many in the community as a smiling and welcoming presence at Giuseppi’s Kentlands location (355 Kentlands Blvd.).
Back in the early 2000s, the plaza area between Crepes-A-Go-Go and Thai Tanium held an ice rink during the winter and a mini golf course in the summer. This venture only lasted for a couple of years, but it was the source of fond memories for many during that time.
