Okolo, 68, of Parkville, MD has been charged for a fourth time, this time with obstruction of justice and fabricating evidence, in connection with an ongoing insurance fraud case in Baltimore County, with previous charges including theft, fraud, and acting as an unlicensed insurance agent.

Attorney General Anthony Brown and a coalition of 23 attorneys general, along with the governors of Kentucky and Pennsylvania, have filed an amended lawsuit accusing the Trump administration’s Office of Management and Budget of unlawfully withholding over $38 million in AmeriCorps funding intended for community service programs across multiple states.

The Flavor Hive, co-founded by social media sensation Shihan Chowdhury (known as “Chilipeppercooks“) and Amgd Gende, has captured the hearts and palates of diners across the DMV area, leading to the soft opening of its first brick and mortar restaurant at 4260 John Marr Dr. in Annandale, VA on Thursday, July 24th. Governor Wes Moore announced that Maryland will appeal the Trump administration’s denial of federal disaster assistance for Western Maryland following severe flooding in May, which caused over $15.8 million in damages. Moore emphasized that the impacted communities met FEMA’s criteria and noted that similar requests were approved under the Trump administration when damage thresholds were exceeded.

After 1,000 days of continuous planning, enrollment recently opened for the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine for the fall 2025 semester. The school, located in Hagerstown, is the first new medical school in Maryland in over 100 years.
