A Freeze Warning is in effect across parts of Maryland, including all of Montgomery County, from midnight tonight through 9am Wednesday, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 27°. Another round of freezing temperatures is possible late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Pepco has submitted a proposal under Maryland’s 2024 Distributed Renewable Integration and Vehicle Electrification, or DRIVE, Act that would use customer-owned devices such as home battery storage systems, electric vehicles, smart thermostats and other flexible energy resources to help support the electric grid during periods of high demand.

Montgomery County’s Kiki Rice has reached the top of the college basketball world. Rice helped lead UCLA to a dominant 79-51 win over fellow No. 1 seed South Carolina in the national championship, finishing with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the title-clinching victory.

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that his Consumer Protection Division, in coordination with the Federal Trade Commission, has reached a settlement of civil charges against multiple Lindsay Automotive Group entities, including Lindsay Ford in Wheaton, over allegations that consumers were misled into paying more than advertised prices for vehicles.

Maryland ranks among the more financially literate states in the country, coming in 10th overall in a new 2026 report from WalletHub released during National Financial Literacy Month. The study comes as nearly 2 in 5 Americans say they expect to carry more credit card debt by the end of the year, underscoring the importance of financial education and habits.
