A winter storm consisting primarily of light snow is still headed our way this Friday. The National Weather Service has released updated maps showing their expected snowfall, reasonable worst case scenario, and low end amounts.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has increased the amount of snow it expects for most areas in its latest “Expected Snowfall” map for this upcoming Friday, January 19th.

Code Yellow / Delayed Opening – Schools and Central Offices Opening 2 hours Late Due to persistent icy conditions and significantly low temperatures, MCPS Schools and central offices will open two hours late on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
Temperatures are in the 20s in most areas and are expected to dip into the 10s or even single digits for some, and feel a lot colder than that wind below zero degree wind chills.
