The Gaithersburg Police Department responded to a disturbance in the 300blk N. Summit Avenue on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at approximately 10:15pm, where they found a blood-covered man who later died in the hospital after receiving emergency medical treatment. Gaithersburg police wrote “The Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division (IID) is investigating a police-involved in-custody death following an incident on December 24.”
Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 300 block of Copley Place in Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown neighborhood.
Last week, we reported that Montgomery County Police, in partnership with Homeland Security and IRS-CI, announced it has led a successful investigation dismantling a Prince George’s County theft and fencing ring trafficking stolen goods worth $270,000 from major retailers and generating over $1 million in untaxed revenue with merchandise shipped to South America.
