Sardi’s Pollo A La Brasa, founded in 2008 by cousins Phil E. Sardelis and Phil G. Sardelis from Montgomery County, has recently announced plans to expand with five new locations in Maryland. As we reported back in January, one of the upcoming restaurants will be in Rockville and Sardi’s has recently received its permit to begin construction.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation has received a $250,000 grant from the Maryland Department of Transportation to support community engagement for Project Connect, a planned 13.9-acre mixed-use development near the North Bethesda Metro Station. The funding will aid outreach efforts as the County partners with WMATA and MDOT to design a transit-oriented hub with housing, retail, and improved transit and pedestrian access. (more…)


Montgomery County isn’t known for its skyscrapers, and while Baltimore boasts the 23 tallest buildings in Maryland, Montgomery County is home to the 24th and 25th tallest structures in the state. In this article, we examine the three tallest buildings in Montgomery County. Notably, the county’s two highest buildings were constructed within the last five years, surpassing the building now ranked third in height.

On Saturday, we let you know that Harris Teeter, located at 11845 Old Georgetown Rd. in North Bethesda, is set to close permanently. At the time we were informed that July 20th was the likely closing date and that was confirmed by an email sent out by Harris Teeter to its customers on Monday afternoon.

Today, Metro announced the selection of Hines, the global real estate investment manager, as the developer for the 13.9-acre North Bethesda joint development site adjacent to the rail station. The firm has been operating in the DC metro area for more than 40 years and owns and operates $90.1 billion of assets across property types.

The YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase will host Paddles with a Purpose on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 9401 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda to kick off its new partnership with  pickleball brand North Bethesda-based JOOLA, featuring pro meet-and-greets, clinics, and round robin play.
