In 2023, New York’s famous H&H Bagels entered a new era of expansion, with agreements in place for 25 new restaurants, including 10 units in the DC area. Now, the first DC location will open at 601 K Street, NW on Thursday, June 12th– about 6.5 miles away from the Maryland line.
AH’HAAN by Bangkok Garden, located at 237 Kentlands Blvd in Gaithersburg, is now aiming for a summer 2025 opening. The upcoming restaurant will be taking the space that was previously home to Good Fortune Cafe for nearly thirty years.
Häagen-Dazs will hold a grand opening celebration for its new Gaithersburg location at 211 Market Street West on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The store, which officially opened in April, is located in Kentlands Market Square. (more…)

In August 2024, we shared the news of Fuddruckers planning to return to Maryland and Washington DC, with new locations originally slated to open in the fall. The DC location opened in March, and eager customers now await the Maryland reopening.

Mykonos, a Rockville staple for decades, will be opening a new restaurant in Potomac’s Cabin John Village on Friday, June 13. The restaurant will take over the space that was formerly occupied by Broadway Pizza, which closed at the end of 2021. (more…)
The Comus Inn is a historic restaurant and event venue located in Dickerson, Maryland, at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain. Established in 1862, the inn has a rich history, originally serving as a stop for travelers and a general store for the local community. Now, it’s launching an ice cream counter on June 12th.
Yelp Community Managers recently compiled a national list of 20 “Off the Beaten Path Breweries” worth the trip, including two from Maryland– one in Montgomery County. “Whether you prefer a smooth lager, a hoppy IPA, a fruity sour, or a toasty stout – a good craft beer is worth the trip.”

Trader Joe’s at 225 N. Washington St. in Rockville Town Square will officially open on Thursday, June 12 at 9 a.m. The new store occupies the former Dawson’s Market space, which closed last summer after twelve years in operation.
