San Pancho was brought to life by husband-and-wife team Carolina McCandless and David Perez. Since opening in July 2024, the restaurant has garnered acclaim as one of the “Hottest New Brunches” and “Hottest New Restaurants.” Recently, the restaurant was also highlighted for its unique coffee drinks that have drawn lines out the door at 7056 Carroll Ave in Takoma Park, MD, and now it’s celebrating its one-year anniversary by thanking customers and asking where it should open the next San Pancho.

The Dough Roller’s story began in 1980, when founder Bill Gibbs envisioned a family-friendly eatery on the front porch of Ocean City’s Breakers Hotel. Recognizing the appeal of a casual yet inviting atmosphere for visitors, he established the first Dough Roller, laying the groundwork for what would become an Ocean City institution. The restaurant even briefly had a location right here in Montgomery County.

Piccoli Piatti is holding its soft opening on Wednesday, July 9th at Westbard Square (5306 Zenith Overlook, Bethesda, MD). Lunch will take place from 12pm-1pm and dinner will be from 6pm-7pm, with one free meal per person being offered (appetizers and drinks not included), per its social media post.
