Looking for the most booked restaurants in “Maryland – DC Suburbs”? You’re in the right place. Each month, popular reservation app OpenTable analyzes nearly 500,000 new global diner reviews on their platform from the past month. They sort the results by location and this location is referred to as “Maryland – DC Suburbs” covering the portion of the state closer to DC as well as a little further out.
After a temporary closure of the Woodley Gardens shopping center in Rockville that lasted for more than a week, Carmen’s Italian Ice announced via social media that the plumbing repair work just passed inspection. Carmen’s will open at 2pm today, Z&Z Manoushe Bakery will open tomorrow (Thursday), and we have not heard from Hard Times or Shanghai Taste about a reopening date, though we would assume Thursday or Friday. The parking lot is still “a mess” according to business owners.

Back in May we let you know that Classic Bakery will be opening a new location at 18195 Village Center Dr. in Olney- the bakery’s third overall, adding to Gaithersburg and Tyson’s Corner. It will be taking over the space that was recently home to Cold Stone, which is moving within the shopping center. Classic Bakery tells us they hope to open mid to late quarter 1 (2025) with a tentative target date of March 1st that’s subject to change.

Good Fortune Cafe, which has been serving the area since 1994 (according to its website), closed in August at 237 Kentlands Place. At the time an employee shared that they would be returning later in the year in the space that has been home to Happy Uncle in Germantown’s Clopper’s Mill shopping center (18022 Mateny Rd.) for more than 20 years. Today, it was confirmed by Happy Uncle that Good Fortune would be taking over early next year.
Signage is up at Falafel Inc in Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. We first reported in September that the restaurant would be taking over the space recently occupied by Butter Chicken House, next to Chick-Fil-A. (more…)
This past summer we shared that two Maryland restaurants (the top two) were included in a list of the “Best Crab Cakes in the U.S.” by Food & Wine magazine. As with any list, there were plenty who agree and plenty with differing opinions, and since we are still receiving comments nearly half a year later– today we look at some of the reader submitted comments about other places.
Kokee Tea Cafe is set to open soon at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, bringing its bubble tea offerings to a new kiosk on the lower level near Macy’s. (more…)
Seasonal retailer See’s Candies has reopened at Montgomery Mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd in Bethesda. See’s specializes in chocolates, truffles, fudge, brittle, toffee, and nuts. See’s joins Sheepskin Gifts & Alpaca Too as stores that have recently opened in the mall for the upcoming holiday shopping season.
In July we let you know that Beauty 4U signed on to take over the space that was the longtime home of Walgreens at 11215 New Hampshire Ave. in White Oak until closing the store permanently in February. The store officially opened this past week.
