RASA, the popular fast-casual Indian restaurant chain founded by Montgomery County natives Rahul Vinod and Sahil Rahman, has announced the launch of its new Indian Plates– a modern twist on classic Indian comfort food. Beginning July 1, Montgomery County will launch a pilot program in the Wheaton Urban District that allows restaurants to convert curbside parking spaces into outdoor dining areas with accessible seating and tables. The program aims to support local businesses and includes specific permitting requirements, safety guidelines, and prorated parking space fees.

Back in May 2024, we announced that Classic Bakery would be opening a new location at 18195 Village Center Dr. in Olney– its third overall, joining Gaithersburg and Tyson’s Corner. According to their social media post on Wednesday, the new bakery will open its doors on Friday, June 27th.

J&J Mex-Taqueria first opened in DC about a decade ago. The restaurant has since opened additional locations and is currently in a soft opening phase at Commas Food Hall in Ellsworth Place Mall (8661 Colesville Rd. Silver Spring, MD). While J&J operated at nearby Solaire Social (that stall is now known as Ay Mamma), diners shared that the J&J Supreme burrito is the “best burrito in Maryland and DC”– a distinction that was echoed by fellow stall operators at Solaire.
