Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown and Prince George’s County filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, alleging it unlawfully abandoned the congressionally approved Greenbelt site for the new FBI headquarters and attempted to redirect more than $1 billion in funding to Washington, D.C.’s Ronald Reagan Building.

The Montgomery County Education Association’s (MCEA) Representative Assembly voted last night to oppose MCPS’s proposed regional program model for secondary schools. In a press release, MCEA shares that it supports the goal of the proposed model, to increase access and equity to enriched instruction, the Association does not have confidence that the plan, as currently proposed, will meet that goal in any meaningful sense.

Each year, MoCoSnow looks at the different Winter Outlook released by major networks in our area. Thursday morning, FOX 5 DC meteorologists Mike Thomas and Tucker Barnes have released their long-awaited 2025-2026 Winter Outlook, and the Washington region could be in for a true mix of winter weather, from a frigid December to a potentially snow-packed January.

Winter Intersession classes are all online and begin Tuesday, January 15. There are one, two, and three session courses and others that meet once per week for six weeks. Those new to Osher at JHU pay a one-time $50 membership fee–then each class is priced individually.

The holidays are set to sparkle once again in Rockville as The Square hosts its annual Rockville Tree Lighting on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event will take place at 36 Maryland Avenue (formerly Rockville Town Square), bringing the community together for an evening filled with music, performances, and holiday cheer.
