Montgomery County has seen multiple accidents across the region this morning as light snow and very cold temperatures created hazardous travel conditions.  MCFRS is warning drivers that the combination of snow and frigid pavement temperatures is making roads slick and icy, stating: “ATTENTION: SOME SNOW & VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL RESULT IN TREACHEROUS TRAVEL FOR THE FRIDAY MORNING COMMUTE… the combo of light snow and very cold temps may result in treacherous travel Friday morning. Washington Gas will begin resurfacing several Takoma Park streets next week following the completion of recent gas line replacement work, according to an announcement shared by Takoma Park Police. The multi-day project will involve milling and paving across multiple neighborhoods and is expected to cause temporary traffic delays.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of the region, including the District of Columbia, Prince George’s County, Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, Fairfax County, and Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria. The advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, with forecasters warning of treacherous travel conditions during the morning commute.

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that a federal court granted a preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration from enforcing a budget provision that would bar certain health centers, including Planned Parenthood, from receiving Medicaid reimbursements, after a multistate coalition argued the policy was unlawful and harmful to states.
