Unibal-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) has defaulted on a roughly $235 million securitized loan tied to Westfield Wheaton– the largest mall in suburban Maryland and the fourth-largest in the Greater Washington area. The mall was originally built in 1958 and was known as Wheaton Plaza– the first shopping mall in Montgomery County.
Westfield Montgomery is hosting its second Good Festival on April 26-27, 2025, from 11 am to 2 pm at 7101 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda, MD, featuring eco-friendly events, shopping, and sustainability initiatives.
Thai Express is now open at Westfield Montgomery Mall in the dining terrace, taking over the space previously occupied by Ruby Thai Kitchen, which closed on January 1. (more…)

Tesla has closed its location at Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda.
In October we let you know that Japanese retailer UNIQLO is coming to Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda. Last month we know the retailer has received a permit valued at $1.425 million to build out the store, and now we know the store is aiming for a late spring opening, according to a representative from the Downtown Silver Spring location.
