Maryland-National Capital Park Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault that occurred on November 1, 2025, along the Northwest Branch Trail in Silver Spring. Dor-Ne Corset Shoppe, a cherished specialty retailer known for its expert fittings and high-quality undergarments located at 8126 Georgia Ave., has announced it will be closing after 93 years in business. The longtime owners, who are retiring, shared the news of a “going out of business, everything must go”sale earlier this month along with word that the business is now available to purchase.


The Stained Glass Pub community is grieving the loss of longtime team member Sherri Fisher, who passed away on December 3, 2025, surrounded by her family. The restaurant announced her passing in an emotional message, calling Sherri “truly irreplaceable” and “more than a team member — she was family.”

The City of Takoma Park will implement an innovative stop sign camera enforcement program beginning in early 2026. The four-year pilot program was authorized through the Maryland General Assembly, SB0600, (https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/2025RS/bills/sb/sb0600E.pdf) and approved by the Takoma Park City Council.
