Maryland-National Capital Park Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault that occurred on November 1, 2025, along the Northwest Branch Trail in Silver Spring. The longtime owners, who are retiring, shared the news of a “going out of business, everything must go”sale earlier this month along with word that the business is now available to purchase.

The City of Takoma Park will implement an innovative stop sign camera enforcement program beginning in early 2026. The four-year pilot program was authorized through the Maryland General Assembly, SB0600, (https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/2025RS/bills/sb/sb0600E.pdf) and approved by the Takoma Park City Council.
Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday on westbound I-495 where a vehicle left the roadway and struck trees, with lanes closed for several hours while the crash team conducted its investigation. (more…)
