Automated Stop Sign Enforcement Pilot Program Community Meeting to Take Place on Thursday, July 31st

The City of Takoma Park is actively pursuing and has recently gained legislative authority to implement an Automated Stop Sign Enforcement Pilot Program, specifically focusing on school zones. The Takoma Park Police Department is inviting the community to join them for a Community Engagement and Informational Session regarding the recently passed Automated Stop Sign Enforcement Bill, which designates Takoma Park as a pilot jurisdiction for this new initiative.

Maryland is Home to The Best Reuben in the DC Area, According to Washington Post Readers

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has arrested and charged Oscar Hernandez-Bonilla of Rockville and Osmin Ernesto Martinez Diaz of Silver Spring in connection with a commercial burglary and theft that occurred on Triangle Lane on July 9, 2025.

Firefighter Sprays Hose on Baseball Field in Response to Ball Hitting Truck, Game Cancelled

Thursday night’s game between the Silver Spring-Takoma Park Thunderbolts and the Metro SoCo Braves at Montgomery Blair Baseball Stadium was canceled after the field was sprayed with water from a fire hose. The stadium, located adjacent to Silver Spring Fire Station 16, was left unplayable due to the incident. (more…)
