The Montgomery County Police Department has issued a traffic advisory at 10:34am on Saturday. “Westbound Sam Eig HWY is closed at Fields Road due to a traffic collision. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.”
At 8:09 a.m., Alert Montgomery issued a severe traffic alert, urging motorists to seek alternate routes due to a traffic incident that closed all lanes of MD-396 (Massachusetts Avenue) at Jamestown Road in Bethesda. According to the alert, drivers should expect significant delays in the affected area.
At approximately 6:07 pm on Saturday, an off-duty Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) officer was involved in a collision with another vehicle near the intersection of Fredrick Road and Indianola Drive in Rockville.

NPL Construction has announced that starting May 21, 2025, it will close single lanes on northbound Carroll Avenue between Sherman Avenue and Jefferson Avenue in Takoma Park to replace a gas line.
