The City of Rockville has announced that the Rockville Metro station area has officially been designated by the state of Maryland as a transit-oriented development, a move expected to support long-term growth, economic development, and expanded housing opportunities. The designation follows a unanimous vote by the Mayor and Council in December to support the initiative.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service is rolling out a new fleet of command vehicles designed to strengthen incident command operations across the county.
The new vehicles will serve MCFRS’s five battalions, which provide incident command coverage across more than 500 square miles and help protect more than one million residents and visitors each day.
Montgomery County Police shared a summary of reported incidents from March 19, 2026, highlighting a mix of property crimes and violent offenses across several areas of the county.
