Maryland’s six casinos generated $147.9 million in slot and table game revenue in January 2026, down 2.6 percent from January 2025, a decline Maryland Lottery and Gaming attributes in part to travel disruptions caused by a late-month winter storm. Despite the decrease, casino contributions to the state totaled $63.9 million, up 0.4 percent from the previous year, including $46.1 million for the Education Trust Fund. (more…)

Wootton High School from its longtime Rockville location to the upcoming Crown High School in Gaithersburg (9410 Fields Rd).

Montgomery College

Montgomery College reported a 6 percent increase in fall 2025 headcount enrollment, outpacing both the national community college growth rate of 3 percent and Maryland’s overall postsecondary increase of 3.4 percent, according to the National Student Clearinghouse.
