Montgomery County’s Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) will recognize National Consumer Protection Week from Sunday, March 1 through Saturday, March 7 with a series of outreach and education efforts aimed at helping residents avoid scams and make informed purchasing decisions.

Event

General admission is $25 per person, which includes chili tastings. Free Admission for kids under 18, Police Officers and their Family is provided by MCPF). All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission to strengthen community-police relationships, support officers wellness, and enhance public safety initiatives across Montgomery County.

In addition to delicious chili, attendees can enjoy local craft beer from Lone Oak Brewery, family activities, and opportunities to meet and interact with Montgomery County police officers in a fun, relaxed setting.

The WMATA Board of Directors has approved a major expansion of Metro’s University Pass (U-Pass) program, a move aimed at giving more college students across the region affordable, unlimited access to public transit.

Approved as part of Metro’s Strategic Transformation Plan, the updated program introduces new pricing and participation options designed to make it easier for colleges and universities to join while expanding eligibility to more students, including part-time, community college, undergraduate, and graduate students.
