Randolph Mosely, 45, of Gaithersburg, was sentenced to ten years in prison, with five years suspended, and five years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the 2021 fentanyl-related death of Andrew “Drew” Davis, 27, of Rockville. Investigators determined Mosely sold Davis the pills that led to his fatal overdose. (more…)

Governor Wes Moore announced that Maryland will provide free MARC and Commuter Bus service to federal workers during the ongoing government shutdown, allowing anyone with a federal ID to ride at no cost until the shutdown ends. (more…)

Washington DC’s celebrated Indian restaurant Rasika has been named one of the most essential and influential restaurants in America by Eater. The publication released its “All-Time Eater 38” list this week, honoring what it calls “the most essential and influential restaurants in America of the past 20 years.” Rasika, which opened in 2005 in Penn Quarter, was praised for redefining Indian dining in the United States through its balance of tradition, innovation, and accessibility.

Last year, Atlantic Union and Olney-based Sandy Spring Bank announced that they had entered into a definitive merger agreement for Atlantic Union to acquire Sandy Spring in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $1.6 billion. On Monday, October 20, the Montgomery County Council’s Transportation and Environment Committee will review Bill 24-25, which proposes repealing the County’s existing Transportation Demand Management program to create a more flexible and accountable approach. Later that day, the Planning, Housing and Parks Committee will continue its review of the University Boulevard Corridor Plan, which outlines updated land use, zoning, and transportation recommendations for the corridor from Silver Spring to Wheaton.
