A section of NB MD-355 is currently shut down in Rockville following a crash near the intersection of 355 and Gude Drive, close to Watkins Pond Boulevard. The collision appears to involve a dump truck that overturned onto its side and another vehicle with significant front-end damage.

DMV

Metro riders will have a sweeter commute this season as WMATA debuts its newest fleet of holiday-wrapped Metrorail, Metrobus, and MetroAccess vehicles. The festive designs, which will begin appearing in the coming days, feature a bright red backdrop transformed into a candy-filled winter wonderland. The theme, “making your ride sweeter,” extends inside the holiday-wrapped train, where the interior has also been decorated to match the cheerful, seasonal look.

Celebrate an evening of Kuchipudi with Traditions, a solo performance by Madhuvanthi Sundararajan featuring a live orchestra. Presented as the culmination of the Maryland State Arts Council Folklife Apprenticeship, this performance marks the year-long artistic journey between master tradition bearer Kasi Aysola and apprentice Madhuvanthi Sundararajan. General admission is $25 per person, which includes chili tastings. Free Admission for kids under 18, Police Officers and their Family is provided by MCPF). All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission to strengthen community-police relationships, support officers wellness, and enhance public safety initiatives across Montgomery County.

MCFRS

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded Sunday to a fire at a two-story home built in 1897 along the 8900 block of Beallsville Road near Jerusalem Road at Muldoon Farm in Poolesville. The main farmhouse sustained significant damage after smoke and flames were reported coming from the structure. (more…)

The Five Guys restaurant at 3333 Olney Sandy Spring Road has officially closed its doors, ending years of service as a staple stop for local families, students, and commuters. The restaurant permanently closed at the end of business on Sunday, December 7, as we reported last week.
